I dyed my hair. How do I fix it?

My hair was dirty blonde roots and blonder ends. My friend and I dyed it and it was supposed to come out a golden blonde, but its darker like a copper-y blonde (slightly red) than I would have liked...can I re-dye with a brighter blonde dye or am I just going to screw it up?
