Scratches on car door?

I have some minor scratches on my car door that are really bugging me from when my ex's dog jumped on it. I used a buffing solution, which I actually think made the scratches more noticeable and faded the paint slightly. Is it possible to have the scratches painted over and how much would it cost? I really need to make my (&*^^%% ex pay for it, too....
