How do you remove a stuck can of food that has rusted & slightly leaked out?

It is literally glued inside the cupboad where it leaked, along with a few cans next to it. The liquid has turned black and is fairly dry & just slightly tacky....and no amout of prodding and pushing is budging them. Please help....any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
