What is it like for a parent to die?

im 17 and im not sure why but i recently started wondering what it would be like if one of my parents died. my dad is feeling slightly sick now but hes always tired and has high blood pressure and it kind of occured to me...also i have a very strong relationship with both of them and i never thought about what my life would be like.
